Additionally, viewers can binge complete seasons 2 & 3 on Saturday and Sunday respectively.

This holiday binge experience is the latest innovative offering that TBS has provided to fans trying to avoid their families. ANGIE TRIBECA initially debuted in 2016 with a 25-hour marathon… that’s right 25 hours… and scored two consecutive seasons of growth among adults 18-49, including +13% for season two and another +8% for the third season. The series has consistently ranked as a top-performing primetime cable comedy and was in the Top 10 for season 3.

In season four, it’s been 20 years since the law wrongfully turned on Detective ANGIE TRIBECA (Rashida Jones) and tossed her in jail. Now, Tribeca is out, reunited with her team, Lt. Atkins (Jere Burns), Dr. Scholls (Andrée Vermeulen), estranged son, Angie Jr. (Bobby Cannavale) and the young and brilliant Maria Charo (Kiersey Clemons) fighting for the good guys. Or so they think. No, they are. Or, are they? They are. Just kidding. Or are we?

This season’s powerhouse lineup of guest stars includes Kathryn Hahn, Rose Byrne, Anjelica Huston, Gillian Jacobs, Carl Reiner, HARRY Hamlin, Taran Killam, Eliza Coupe, Deon Cole, Jimmy Tatro, Dove Cameron, Isla Fisher, Heather Graham and Carol Burnett.

Real, brooding and shockingly alive, ANGIE TRIBECA is the brainchild of Steve and Nancy Carell, who executive-produce the critically-acclaimed series along with showrunner Ira Ungerleider. The series, which Vanity Fair calls “very, very funny” and the LA Times describes as an “entertaining joyride,” follows a squad of committed LAPD detectives who investigate the most serious cases, from the murder of a ventriloquist to a rash of baker suicides.

Michael Winterbottom’s Greed starring Steve Coogan wraps production

Michael Winterbottom’s Greed starring Steve Coogan wraps production

Today, Sony Pictures International Productions (SPIP) and Film4 announced they have wrapped production on BAFTA-winning director Michael Winterbottom’s Greed. The film stars Oscar nominee and BAFTA winner Steve Coogan (upcoming Stan & Ollie, Alan Partridge, Philomena), alongside Isla Fisher, BAFTA-winner David Mitchell with Sophie Cookson , Shirley Henderson, Asa Butterfield, Sarah Solemani, Shanina Shaik, Dinita Gohil, Asim Chaudhry, Pearl Mackie, Jonny Sweet, Ollie Locke and Stephen Fry. The satire is co-written by Winterbottom and two-time Emmy Award winner Sean Gray (“Veep,” “The Thick of It”), and is produced by Melissa Parmenter (The Trip film & series, The Look of Love) for Revolution Films and DJ Films’ Damian Jones (Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie, Dad’s Army).

Greed is the fictional story of a retail billionaire, set in the glamorous and celebrity-filled world of luxury fashion, which is centered around the build up to a spectacular 60th birthday party in an exclusive hotel on the Greek island of Mykonos. Sony Pictures International Productions will release the film worldwide in late 2019.

“We couldn’t be more delighted to be teaming with Film4 for this picture,” said Laine Kline, Head of Sony Pictures International Productions. “Damian, Melissa and Michael have done an astronomical job assembling a brilliantly talented comic ensemble for this hilarious satire.”

Film4 Head of Creative Ollie Madden adds, “We can’t think of anyone better to take on the excessive world of business moguls and the super-rich than Michael Winterbottom and Steve Coogan. Together with Sean Gray, a great production team and brilliant ensemble cast, we know they’re going to make something both funny and with a genuine sting in the tail.”

Winterbottom and Coogan are long term collaborators, with the pair most recently working together on the critically acclaimed third instalment of The Trip series, The Trip to Spain co-starring Rob Brydon. The improvised three season comedy series was inspired by Coogan and Brydon’s semi-fictionalized versions of themselves as portrayed in Winterbottom’s A Cock and Bull Story. Their other collaborations include 24 Hour Party People and The Look of Love, both biopics tracking the rise and fall of entertainment moguls.

The film marks the sixth collaboration between Winterbottom and Film4 who have backed an eclectic range of films from the director’s repertoire including Genova, Welcome to Sarajevo, With or Without You, 24 Hour Party People, and The Look of Love.

Laine Kline and Luke Scrase are overseeing for SPIP. Sony Pictures International Productions is the local production arm of Sony Pictures Entertainment’s Motion Picture Group. SPIP’s latest film Slaughterhouse Rulez is currently on release in the UK. SPIP is also in production on an adaption of Alan Warner’s novel The Sopranos, directed by Michael Caton-Jones.

Daniel Battsek and Ollie Madden are overseeing for Film4. Current and forthcoming Film4 releases include Yorgos Lanthimos’s The Favourite, Steve McQueen’s Widows and Mike Leigh’s Peterloo.

Isla invited to join The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences

The Academy Invites 928 New Members, from Daniel Kaluuya to Sufjan Stevens

In an astonishing move to swell the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences membership ranks, a record 928 artists and executives from 59 countries have been invited to join this year. The branches have increasingly actively sought eligible people to become Academy members, but the Board of Governors makes the final call; this year, they did not invite Kobe Bryant although he won an Oscar for animated short “Dear Basketball.”

Clearly, people of color (38 percent) and women (49 percent) are among the many invites, as the Academy continues to address its long-term white-male dominance. As always, actors make up the largest branch of the Academy, but many new members also come from overseas.

In 2017, the Academy invited 744 new members.

Seventeen Oscar winners are among the new invited members (Melissa Etheridge) and 92 Oscar nominees (Daniela Vega, Yance Ford, Timothee Chalamet, Kumail Nanjiani and Emily Gordon). Nine of the 17 branches invited more women than men. The percentage of women in the Academy has risen from 25 percent in 2015 to 31 percent in 2018. For people of color, the needle moved from 8 percent in 2015 to 16 percent. Not all invitees will accept. (Ryan Coogler, for example, declined.) The new total assuming most accept their invites will be about 8200.

Isla, Sacha and others pen open letter urging UN to uphold Syria ceasefire

UN security council must act to uphold the ceasefire in Syria

Riz Ahmed, Sacha Baron Cohen, Isla Fisher, Sofie Gråbøl, Annie Lennox, Michael Palin, Andy Serkis, Imelda Staunton, Emma Thompson, Joe Wright call on the UN to take action

We, like many people around the world, have been horrified by the tragedy of Ghouta unfolding before our eyes (Report, 1 March): children suffocating from chlorine gas, doctors collapsing in tears on the bloody floor of makeshift hospitals, and dazed civilians emerging from the dust clouds of endless air strikes. We have become all too familiar with such scenes in Syria, but now is the moment we must come together and say, “Enough”.

Last Saturday the security council passed a resolution for a 30-day ceasefire that would stop the bombs and allow humanitarian access. The ceasefire has barely led to a lull in the fighting. Meanwhile, diplomats in faraway capitals quibble over the timing and language of the ceasefire.

So today we say in plain terms for all humanity: the members of the security council can and must uphold the ceasefire. We cannot consign yet another promise to Syrian civilians to the rubbish bin of history nor can we accept any watered-down version of the agreement. We must act now to save lives.

Among the horrors of Ghouta, we are seeing tremendous acts of bravery: rescue workers driving towards bombs, women cooking for their entire community and doctors working around the clock with barely enough supplies. We are asking the leaders of our countries to stand with these brave Syrians and do everything in their power to uphold the ceasefire and stop the killing. When our children ask us what we did for Ghouta, let us be able to say, “Everything”.

Riz Ahmed, Sacha Baron Cohen, Isla Fisher, Sofie Gråbøl, Annie Lennox, Michael Palin, Andy Serkis, Imelda Staunton, Emma Thompson, Joe Wright.

‘Crocodile Dundee’ Tourism Australian advert

During the recent US sporting event Superbowl, a trailer was shown for a new Crocodile Dundee movie starring a host of Aussie stars, including Isla. The greatest name in the outback is back in the outback! Only this time, Dundee isn’t a Hollywood movie. It’s a giant tourism ad for Australia.

Thirty years after Crocodile Dundee first introduced the world to the land down under, Chris Hemsworth and Danny McBride bring the iconic Aussie franchise back as they embark on the trip of a lifetime. And while the film’s plot may not be real, Danny’s adventure through Australia’s outback, white sand beaches, gorgeous wineries and bustling cities are what truly await every visitor.

Come soon, mates. There’s nothing like Australia!

Find out more at the official campaign website dundeemovie.com; there are more videos there as well as on the Tourism Australian You Tube channel.
