Favourite Movie: True Grit (2010), This Is Spinal Tap (1984), Borat, Thelma & Louise, Christopher Guest films, the Monty Python films. Isla loves romantic comedies, but doesn’t like “emotionally draining” films where you “leave exhausted and you’ve lost the will to live”!

Favourite Actress: Goldie Hawn, Michelle Pfeiffer, Meryl Streep, Reese Witherspoon, Amy Poehler, Sarah Silverman

Favourite Actor: Geoffrey Rush, Jack Nicholson

Favourite Director: The Coen Brothers, Richard Curtis, Baz Luhrmann

Favourite Book: ‘The Beauty Myth’ by Naomi Wolf – “It altered the way I felt about myself. Stopped me buying into body fascism,” Isla says. She also lists ‘The Female Brain’ by Louann Brizendine as one of her favourites.

Favourite Author: Emily Brontë

Favourite Music: The Beatles, Oasis and Nirvana. She loves to listen to world music with her baby, and enjoys jazz and orchestral music too. Apparently likes Guns N’ Roses and Metallica. She has a “very eclectic” taste in music, in her own words.

Favourite TV Show: Isla doesn’t watch much TV, but she does like Cougar Town, because her friend Courteney Cox is in it! She also enjoys The Office, Monty Python, Blackadder (and all the other old British comedies) and Kath & Kim.

Favourite Food: Sushi and Japanese food, pizza. Also likes Gordon Ramsey’s restaurants, and Italian, French and Thai food.

Favourite animal: Baby elephants

Favourite style icons: Michelle Obama

Favourite designers: Stella McCartney, Vivienne Westwood, Zac Posen, Prada, Calvin Klein, Lanvin, Marc Jacobs. Loves Colette Dinnigan because “her dresses are always very feminine, beautifully beaded and bohemian.” “I tend to gravitate towards the simplicity of Calvin Klein. I love Stella McCartney too. Her clothes make women sexy, in a modest way. I shop on the high street but preferably not in stores that use sweatshops.”

Favourite role (that she’d most like to play): Lady Macbeth

Favourite Car: The Nissan Altima. She had her name on the list for one before they came out.

Favourite thing to do: Spend time with her kids and family
