Isla & Jesse Eisenberg talk “Now You See Me” via Skype

Jesse Eisenberg & Isla Fisher answer reader’s questions via Skype

MSN’s James Hurley hosts a session of fan questions via Skype for Jesse Eisenberg and Isla Fisher.

Isla on Daybreak and This Morning in the UK

Whilst in London to promote Now You See Me, Isla appeared on talk shows This Morning and Daybreak. She went solo on This Morning, and talked about Now You See Me, the stunts in that movie and her co-stars, and also about The Great Gatsby. She also explained the rumour about her and Sacha complaining about Leonardo DiCaprio’s noisy party at Cannes – they did crash the party and pretended to complain, but it was a joke – and Isla let slip a (slightly) naughty word when recounting the story, which she was very apologetic about! Over on This Morning she was accompanied by Jesse Eisenberg, and they chatted about similar things, plus their careers. Isla looked pretty in an outfit from Australian fashion label Lover.

And we have all the coverage for you! To start with, screencaptures and stills from both shows are in the Gallery, and I’ve also uploaded both interviews for you in our Video section. Links to everything are below…..

Isla Fisher opens up to Cosmo!

Star of The Great Gatsby, and Now You See Me, Isla Fisher is the perfect Cosmo cover star! In the July issue she reveals all about the rejection she experienced at the start of her career, and how she overcame it.

You’d think having a famous husband like Sacha Baron Cohen, you’d be sorted in Hollywood. But apparently not! Isla revealed exclusively to Cosmo: “I really have had no help. In fact, the one time I did ask for help was after my agent in LA fired me. I was auditioning for all sorts of things but kept getting told ‘no’, so she just fired me! So anyway, I said to Sacha, who was my boyfriend at the time, ‘Can you ask your agent if they’ll represent me?’ And his agent said, ‘No way.’ It was the only favour I’d ever asked, and I was like, ‘OK… great’. But it spurred me on.”

Looking at Isla now – especially in this month’s Cosmo – you’d never realise she was once a wallflower. Speaking about her childhood, she said: “I went to something like six different schools before the age of 12, so I was always the new girl and had to make friends quickly. It was difficult at the start because I was very bookish – I was literally sat in the corner reading books, with no friends. So I learnt to be funny and to take the piss out of myself in order to ingratiate myself. I think it’s one of the best skills in life.”

Clip of Isla on The Graham Norton Show

Isla and her Great Gatsby director Baz Luhrmann appeared on The Graham Norton Show in the UK earlier tonight and gave a very funny interview! Conversation ranged from Cannes, to Isla’s audition for Baz, to Isla’s training at the Lecoq school in Paris. I am hoping to be able to bring you a full set of screencaptures and clips fom this show sometime soon, so keep an eye out for that. Isla was her usual hilarious self, and it was good to see her on another big talk show, especially here in the UK!

Here’s a clip from the show which you will probably enjoy watching for its hilarity several times, and another one is further down this post…

Isla talks “Gatsby” to Access Hollywood

Isla Fisher Talks Leonardo DiCaprio’s Great Gatsby Performance: He’s ‘One Of The Greatest Actors Of Our Generation’

Isla Fisher only shares the screen with Leonardio DiCaprio for a single scene in Baz Luhrmann’s “The Great Gatsby,” but the actress says she was blown away by Leo’s performance – and audiences will be too.

“Leo is the most perfect Jay Gatsby. He brings to it a childlike innocence,” Isla, who plays Myrtle Wilson in the upcoming film (based on F. Scott Fitzgerald’s iconic novel), told Access Hollywood at the “Gatsby” junket. “His obsession with Daisy doesn’t feel mentally ill. It’s just sort of passionate and misguided, but still romantic.

“Leo’s fabulous in everything — he’s one of the greatest actors of our generation,” she added. “But he has gone further than you could ever have imagined with this character, and really made [Gatsby] so multi-dimensional, and so flawed and so vulnerable, and yet so macho and sexy — everything that you want in Gatsby.”

In addition to Leo’s performance, Isla was thrilled by the movie’s elaborate costumes created by designer Catherine Martin.

‘Gatsby’: Joel Edgerton, Isla Fisher on Selling Out DiCaprio, Aussie Media Frenzy

‘Gatsby’: Joel Edgerton, Isla Fisher on Selling Out DiCaprio, Aussie Media Frenzy (Video)

The actors joke about calling in Leo sightings to a local radio station and the “lucrative sideline” of revealing set secrets.

Leonardo DiCaprio undoubtedly causes a media frenzy whenever he goes, but while filming The Great Gatsby in Australia, all of Sydney had their eyes peeled for the A-lister.

“The press just had a field day,” Joel Edgerton says of his co-star’s presence in his native land. Adds fellow Aussie Isla Fisher: “It was horrible. They had a radio show that treated him like he wasn’t even a person.”

Said show enlisted the help of local sleuths to call in any Leo spottings for broadcast on the airwaves.
