Interviews at CinemaCon
Isla chatted to a couple of news outlets whilst at CinemaCon recently – here are the interviews:
Isla Fisher Unveils Special Talent in ‘See Me’
In her upcoming film, Now You See Me, Isla Fisher takes on the role of an illusionist, which didn’t prove to be much of a stretch for her to play, as she possesses some uncanny skills similar to those of a magician.
For the thriller, Fisher partakes in some incredible illusionist stunts, including submerging herself in an aquarium for an extended period of time, a skill that she claims to truly possess.
“In one of the takes, I held my breath for almost three minutes,” the Australian actress recounted to ET Canada. “I was quite impressed.”
For the illusionist skills that she didn’t already own naturally, Fisher divulged that she consulted well-known illusionist and her friend David Blaine, who she said was very helpful to her preparation for the role.

“The Great Gatsby” Press Conference
Busy on the promotional trail for her new films, Isla yesterday attended the press conference for The Great Gatsby in New York City. She looked beautiful in a blue blouse with her red curls left naturally down, and posed afterwards with her co-star Joel Edgerton. There are some really cute photos of Isla giggling, so I know you’ll love these 😀
Isla on the cover of Gotham Magazine
Isla’s 4th magazine cover of the year is New York society magazine Gotham! Yes, she graces the cover and pages of this magazine’s May/June issue looking very classic and elegant. The interview inside is conducted by Isla’s Bachelorette co-star and friend Kirsten Dunst, and the twosome talk about Myrtle, Isla’s career, her recent work for Save The Children, and whether she plans to work with Sacha.
The magazine held a party in New York City last night in honour of Isla’s cover, and Isla looked slick, modern and metallic in a gold Pierre Balmain dress, with Casadei heels and a gold Salvatore Ferragamo. Our good friend Rachel has again helped us out with some gorgeous HQ photos, which have now been uploaded into our Gallery.
We also have scans and the photoshoot for you to browse through, and there are a couple of behind the scenes videos from the photoshoot below.
Carey Mulligan And Isla Fisher Plotted to Keep the “Great Gatsby” Costumes
Carey Mulligan And Isla Fisher Plotted to Keep the Great Gatsby Costumes
Carey Mulligan hatched a plot with her The Great Gatsby co-star Isla Fisher to steal their elegant costumes from the set of the 1920s movie.
The two actresses were thrilled with the glamorous outfits they were required to wear for Baz Luhrmann’s upcoming film, in which they play society women alongside Leonardo DiCaprio in the title role.
The pair even conspired to keep the costumes for their private closets once the cameras stopped running, but their plan was foiled.
Fisher tells British magazine Hello!, “I think we were all so enamoured with the costumes and sets that we wanted to hang around even when we weren’t shooting.
“Carey and I were plotting how to steal our costumes and sneak them off set. Sadly, that didn’t work out too well. But they were all great. I had a really great time”.

“The Great Gatsby” in Vogue Australia
Vogue Australia have dedicated a number of pages to The Great Gatsby in its current May issue, with a feature showing behind the scenes of the making of the film, and a second feature looking at the cast and their costumes. There is only one photo of Isla as Myrtle, but it’s a great shot, and you can now see it in our Gallery. See the rest of the Gatsby spreads (nothing further of Isla) here.
I’ve also come across another photo from this same promotional photoshoot, and have added that to our Gallery too.
