Woody Harrelson joins “Now You See Me”

Woody reunites with Jesse on screen

Woody Harrelson is in talks to join his Zombieland co-star Jesse Eisenberg in magician heist thriller Now You See Me.

The Rampart star would join Jesse, Morgan Freeman, Mark Ruffalo, Isla Fisher and Melanie Laurent in the film about The Four Horsemen, a team of the world’s greatest illusionists who pull off daring bank heists during their performances and shower their audience with the profits.

Woody would play Merritt Osbourne, a mentalist and hypnotist known for his Jedi-style mind tricks, Variety reports.

Merritt won fame performing for the Queen, but was forced to flee to Las Vegas and joined the Four Horsemen after a stunt went horribly wrong.

Jesse will play the arrogant but genius leader of the Four Horsemen and Isla a master technician who builds the contraptions needed to create the illusions.

Mark will play the head of the FBI team investigating the heists, while Morgan will play a former magician who advises the FBI on how the tricks were pulled off and Melanie one of the federal agents.

Louis Leterrier is directing the film.

Woody has already won rave reviews for his portrayal of a corrupt LAPD officer in Rampart, which will be shown at the BFI London Film Festival next month.

James Marsden On New Film ‘Bachelorette,’ Inevitable ‘Bridesmaids’ Comparisons

Isla’s Bachelorette co-star James Marsden recently spoke to MTV about working on the film. Of course, MTV.com have a horrible country restriction on the video, so unless you’re in the US you won’t be able to watch it (it won’t feature Isla), but I expect the article itself pretty much sums up what he says:

As Zooey Deschanel recently gushed, it’s a really great time for female-driven comedy. Thanks to the success of flicks like “Bridesmaid” and all those new TV shows (think: “2 Broke Girls” and “New Girl”), it’s giving other lady comedies the green light.

And next up is “Bachelorette,” which revolves around a group of women asked to be the bridesmaids to a woman they used to bully back in high school. Currently shooting in the Big Apple, it’s written and directed by a lady, Leslye Headland, and features some of our favorite actors like Isla Fisher, Kirsten Dunst, Adam Scott and James Marsden.

We caught up with James recently at the “Straw Dogs” premiere where he gushed about the current state of lady comedy and potential “Bridesmaids” comparisons.

“Again, very different just trying to keep people confused; if you never know then I’m happy,” he said of his upcoming project and diverse resume. “This has been around for a while—there’s gonna be comparisons drawn. It’s a great R-rated comedy. It’s really about the girls.”

Isla Fisher in talks for ‘Now You See Me’

Another new role for Isla!? How exciting!! It’s a different genre than we’re used to seeing her in too, and the cast is good.

Isla Fisher, currently in Australia filming Baz Luhrmann’s “The Great Gatsby,” is in negotiations to join the cast of Summit Entertainment’s magician heist pic “Now You See Me.”

Mark Ruffalo is set to star as the leader of a team of FBI agents who are investigating the Four Horsemen, a squad of the world’s greatest illusionists who pull off a series of daring bank heists during their performances, then shower the profits on their auds. Jesse Eisenberg will play the arrogant yet brilliant leader of the Four Horsemen, while Morgan Freeman and Melanie Laurent co-star as an ex-magician and a federal agent, respectively.

Fisher is in talks to play Henley, a master technician who builds contraptions to aid in the illusion of the heists. Amanda Seyfried had been in negotiations for the role but her deal never closed.

Louis Leterrier is directing from a script by Edward Ricourt (“Year 12”) and Boaz Yakin.

Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci are producing via their shingle Kurtzman Orci Paper Products, whose Bobby Cohen will exec produce along with Yakin.

Fisher recently voiced a role in “Rango” and is set to return to the sound booth to voice the Tooth Fairy in DreamWorks Animation’s “Rise of the Guardians.” She’s playing Myrtle Wilson, a married woman who has an affair with Tom Buchanan (Joel Edgerton) in “Great Gatsby.”

She’s repped by CAA and Mosaic, as well as Shanahan Management in Australia.

HQ photos of Isla on the set of “Bachelorette”

We are in luck, because yesterday I was able to find a great batch of photos of Isla and Kirsten Dunst on the set of Bachelorette, and in HQ, none-the-less! They are from September 1st, which is the same day the majority of ones I posted about in our previous update were from. There are some fantastic, clear shots from the shoot, and Isla looks gorgeous! I’m already excited for this movie … are you?

Also, I mentioned in our previous update that I was surprised to see Isla back in New York City filming another movie so soon after our first photos of her on the set of Gatsby in Australia – well PerthNow.com provides further information, saying she was just there for rehearsals and costume fittings, and will return to that set soon:

Fisher, 35, snuck into Sydney last month for costume fittings and rehearsals and is expected back at Fox Studios in coming weeks.

Sounds like Miss Fisher will be a busy bee in the coming months, and I’m sure it will be worth it!

Isla on the set of “Bachelorette”

Well this has come as a surprise! A mere week after our first look at Isla on the set of The Great Gatsby in Australia, she is now hard at work on Bachelorette in New York City! She was snapped filming scenes on Wednesday and Thursday of this week in the Big Apple, looking absolutely gorgeous in a little black dress. The scene yesterday (shot outside the Scores Gentleman’s Club) was with the wonderful Kirsten Dunst, and was obviously a very drunken scene involving their two characters!

I am surprised – in a very, very good way – to see Isla filming another movie so soon after The Great Gatsby – for one, I thought she’d be filming Gatsby for longer (maybe she’ll go back? Maybe they shot a lot before we saw the photos?), and also because she hasn’t worked this much for ages! I’m sure you’ll all be as happy and excited as I am that we’re finally going to be seeing more of Isla on screen – I can’t wait!

(Very) unfortunately we are unable to add these first photos from the set of Bachelorette into our Gallery because of where they’re from, but I will of course be on the hunt for photos we can post. In the meantime, you can find the photos through the external links below:
