“Home & Away”‘s Alf Stewart on Isla

Home & Away‘s Alf Stewart mentioned Isla in a recent interview:

Three decades on and the soap is celebrating its 30th anniversary. Ray’s been there since the first episode, and has seen many a drama unfold and many a star born, with everyone from Heath Ledger to Naomi Watts passing through Summer Bay.

“You can often tell that there’s something special when these young stars join,” says Ray. “I knew Isla Fisher was different from the moment I worked with her. Chris Hemsworth too – God was pretty kind to him to start with, but he put the hard work in too. It’s wonderful when the really nice people make it; I feel good that those guys are winning and it does make me proud to think they started out here.”

First trailer for “Tag”

The trailer for Isla’s upcoming comedy movie Tag has recently been released, and you can watch it below. We’ll have more from this movie for you soon…

For one month every year, five highly competitive friends hit the ground running in a no-holds-barred game of tag they’ve been playing since the first grade—risking their necks, their jobs and their relationships to take each other down with the battle cry: “You’re It!”

This year, the game coincides with the wedding of their only undefeated player, which should finally make him an easy target. But he knows they’re coming…and he’s ready.

Based on a true story, the New Line Cinema comedy “Tag” shows how far some guys will go to be the last man standing.

“Tag” is directed by Jeff Tomsic (Comedy Central’s “Broad City”), with a starring ensemble cast led by Ed Helms (The “Hangover” movies, “We’re the Millers”), Jake Johnson (TV’s “New Girl”), Annabelle Wallis (“The Mummy”), Rashida Jones (TV’s “Parks and Recreation”), Isla Fisher (“Now You See Me”), Leslie Bibb (“Iron Man 2”), Hannibal Buress (“Neighbors”), with Jon Hamm (“Baby Driver,” TV’s “Mad Men”) and Oscar nominee Jeremy Renner (“The Hurt Locker,” “The Town”). The “Tag” screenplay was written by Rob McKittrick (“Waiting”) and Mark Steilen (TV’s “Mozart in the Jungle”), screen story by Mark Steilen, and based on the Wall Street Journal article entitled “It Takes Planning, Caution to Avoid Being It,” by Russell Adams. The film is produced by Todd Garner and Mark Steilen, with Hans Ritter, Richard Brener, Walter Hamada and Dave Neustadter serving as executive producers.

The creative filmmaking team includes director of photography Larry Blanford, production designer David Sandefur, editor Josh Crockett, and costume designer Denise Wingate. “Tag” is set for a June 15, 2018, release.

‘Crocodile Dundee’ Tourism Australian advert

During the recent US sporting event Superbowl, a trailer was shown for a new Crocodile Dundee movie starring a host of Aussie stars, including Isla. It was soon revealed, though, that this was not a movie trailer, but a clever new advertisement for Australia itself! The tourism campaign shows US actor Danny McBride travelling to the country and meeting Chris Hemsworth, and has cameos from Isla, Russell Crowe, Hugh Jackman, Margot Robbie, and other Australian stars.

The greatest name in the outback is back in the outback! Only this time, Dundee isn’t a Hollywood movie. It’s a giant tourism ad for Australia.

Thirty years after Crocodile Dundee first introduced the world to the land down under, Chris Hemsworth and Danny McBride bring the iconic Aussie franchise back as they embark on the trip of a lifetime. And while the film’s plot may not be real, Danny’s adventure through Australia’s outback, white sand beaches, gorgeous wineries and bustling cities are what truly await every visitor.

Come soon, mates. There’s nothing like Australia!

Find out more at the official campaign website dundeemovie.com; there are more videos there as well as on the Tourism Australian You Tube channel. AdForum.com has some information on the campaign too. Find out about how the project came about in the video interview with Chris Hemsworth further down this post.

Crocodile Dundee inspires new $36m American tourism push.

Today’s Super Bowl (the Big Game), the most watched television broadcast in the United States, kicked off a new A$36 million marketing push by Tourism Australia, aimed at supercharging the value of American tourism Down Under.

Supported by Qantas, American Airlines and Wine Australia and featuring appearances from some of Australia’s biggest celebrities, the campaign is the largest Tourism Australia has run in the United States since Paul Hogan’s famous Come Say G’Day ads more than 30 years ago. Celebrities featured include Chris and Liam Hemsworth, Hugh Jackman, Paul Hogan, Margot Robbie, Ruby Rose and Russell Crowe as well as American actor Danny McBride.

Isla Fisher to Co-Star With Matthew McConaughey in ‘Beach Bum’

Isla Fisher is set to star opposite Matthew McConaughey in Harmony Korine’s next movie, “Beach Bum,” sources tell Variety.

The film will be a co-production between Neon and Vice with Neon, which bought the rights for the film at this year’s Cannes Film Festival, handling distribution. CAA will be negotiating the domestic sales while Rocket Science handled international sales.

“Beach Bum” is a comedy that follows the misadventures of Moondog (McConaughey), a rebellious and lovable rogue who lives life large. Fisher will play Moondog’s wife.

The film will be written and directed by Korine, whose unique filmmaking style gained recognition with “Spring Breakers,” which starred James Franco and brought in $31 million at the worldwide box office.

Le Grisbi Productions’ John Lesher, Anonymous Content’s Steve Golin, Iconoclast’s Charles-Marie Anthonioz, Mourad Belkeddar, and Nicolas Lhermitte will produce. The film is executive produced by Tom Quinn and Tim League for Neon and Shane Smith, Eddy Moretti, and Danny Gabai for Vice.

Fisher had a busy 2016, which included “The Brother Grimsby,” “Keeping up With the Joneses,” and Tom Ford’s “Nocturnal Animals.” Fisher just recently wrapped production on “Tag” opposite Jeremy Renner and Jon Hamm.

She is repped by UTA and Sloane Offer Weber & Dern.
