Isla Fisher has the last laugh
Fisher making a name for herself

Speaking of Definitely, Maybe, I had the chance to see it today and it was absolutely charming. Even though I am generally not a big fan of romantic comedies, I really enjoyed this one. It had a lot of heart, delived the laughs and the cast was just wonderful. I may be biased but I especially adored Isla Fisher as April Hoffman. The character was multilayered and Isla made her feel very real. Plus, she had the best lines and her chemistry with Ryan Reynolds was great. This is one of Isla’s best performances – certainly one for all fans to see.

Isla Fisher on Jews and Junior

The Daily Telegraph published a very nice and informative article about Isla today. I think it will appear in tomorrow’s edition of the magazine – so Aussies, keep your eyes peeled for Isla! 😉 Check out full article here.

She has already sold two comedy scripts to major Hollywood studios, has voiced one of the characters for the forthcoming Dr Seuss movie, Horton Hears A Who!, and is due to start filming Confessions Of A Shopaholic (based on Sophie Kinsella’s bestseller), as the lead character, Rebecca Bloomwood.

“Although I’ll be focusing on colouring in books for the next few weeks!

“I don’t want to put the pressure on myself to have to race back to something.”

So, did Fisher ever dream she’d get this far?

“Oh, I always thought I’d be living in Hollywood, in a seven-bedroom house with a massive swimming pool,” she grins.

“It’s just that when I imagined it, I always thought I’d be the maid.”

Ryan Reynolds and Isla Fisher Talk Definitely, Maybe

About.com has published a new Definitely, Maybe related interview with Isla and Ryan Reynolds. Click here to view full article.

Fisher found a lot she could relate to in the character of April. “I related to my character in that she was kind of a nomad who didn’t have a strong sense of her own identity. I felt like that when I was in my early 20s. She’s someone who is also afraid of love, and I definitely was like that when I was younger. But other than that, I thought it was a real departure for me to play this apolitical girl.”

Definitely, Maybe New York Premiere

The celebrities will arrive 6.30 PM. Isla Fisher is expected to attend alongside fellow cast members Ryan Reynolds, Derek Luke, Abigail Breslin, Elizabeth Banks and Rachel Weisz. This will be Isla’s first big red carpet appearance since the birth of baby Olive – you can expect Maria and I to bring you complete coverage next week.
