Isla on the cover of Women’s Health magazine!

Great news Isla fans, Miss Fisher graces the cover of the new Winter issue of Women’s Health magazine! I can’t be 100% sure, but I think this is the UK edition. Isla looks fantastic in the new photoshoot, and alongside it is a new interview in which Isla touches on several subjects, including her husband, her body, and her Aussie pals. It’s so exciting to see Isla on the cover of a big magazine again, especially one as different and interesting as Women’s Health!

Below are some released quotes from the interview, and you can see the cover and first two photoshoot pictures in our gallery. I will have scans for you asap.

The magazine hits UK (?) news-stands on Wednesday.

• “After doing that [Wedding Crashers], I had 12 months where I was auditioning three times a day and I didn’t get a single job. That was a real low point. But with hindsight, those movies turned out to be awful, so I dodged a bullet. If I’d got any of them, I wouldn’t be where I am today.”

• “I never had the chutzpah to just come to LA and make it. I didn’t have that confidence. I’m always surprised when I get a job. I never saw this in my horizon.”

• “I do watch my food. But I’ve been blessed in that I never had any body issues during pregnancy. I loved being able to eat whatever I wanted and the whole experience of giving life. And I never worried about losing the weight afterwards, because breastfeeding burns all the calories up so fast. Breastfeeding – that’s my big slimming secret! That and Spanx. Anytime anyone compliments me on my figure, I’m wearing my Spanx undies.”

• “I’m not actually very good at the maintenance thing. I don’t buff, exfoliate, pluck, rinse, moisturise, suck, bleach, whatever all those women do. I don’t have vajacials. Have you heard of those? It’s like a spa for your vagina!”

(On her fellow Aussie stars) “We can all do the accent really easily. And we all look great in a bikini. Including Russell Crowe – no one pulls off a bikini like Russell. I am sort of friends with them all. I just did a movie with Hugh Jackman [Rise Of The Guardians], and I catch up with Naomi [Watts] whenever I’m in New York.”

(On converting to Judaism) “It takes a couple of years of studying. I’ve always been really into family and food, so culturally it was the right fit for me.”

(On Rango co-stars Johnny Depp and Bill Nighy) “He’s like a magical creature – incredibly funny, clever and nice. It’s sort of as if he’s come from another planet. And Bill Nighy is very warm, gregarious and very talented. He played the snake in Rango and was hilarious on set.”

Hollywood’s just crazy about Isla Fisher

Of her own marriage, Fisher says she’s been incredibly lucky to have found her soulmate.

“Choosing to be together every day is incredibly romantic,” she says. “I love marriage. I think it’s a wonderful institution and it’s the most important decision you make.

“Life is filled with highs and lows, and you have a best friend to share it with you. It’s amazing.

“It’s like winning the lottery, having a good partner.”

Isla in a deleted scene from “The Dictator”

A few months ago Isla confessed that she had filmed a part for her husband’s latest movie The Dictator, but that it had been cut, but now, however, footage of her from the film has emerged! ParamountGermany have released a deleted scene from the movie in which The Dictator himself, General Aladeen, is given an award for Best Love Song – following the announcement of his win, the music video for his winning song is shown, and it features a rather beautiful red-head in it. It’s pretty funny … until the end.

Credit goes to the sachaismylove tumblr for bringing this to my attention. Being a big fan of Sacha and this movie, as well as Isla obviously, I’m really excited to see this footage! Screencaptures will be added to the Gallery soon.

What do you think about this scene? Would you like to see Isla and Sacha work together properly?

Isla cut from Dictator

Isla Fisher has revealed she had a role in her husband Sacha Baron Cohen’s new movie but it didn’t make the final cut.

The Perth-raised actress, who is in Cannes to promote her latest film, the DreamWorks animation Rise of the Guardians, was meant to play a Russian prostitute in Cohen’s comedy The Dictator. However, as often happens to the best of actors, footage of the 36-year-old funny girl ended up on the cutting room floor.

“And (Sacha) still expected me to do press for the movie,’ Fisher jokes.

“No really, it didn’t work for the movie. I have been through a thousand edits and I have no ego when it comes to this stuff.”

Fisher recalls the last time she was in Cannes when her husband strutted on to the beach in a mankini to promote his film Borat.

“I am happier to see him on a camel,” she says, referring to Cohen’s publicity stunt last week when he chose an unusual animal to take for a morning stroll.

It was one of a number of stunts Cohen has pulled while promoting his new movie around the world, including during his visit to Australia earlier this month.

New interview with the BBC: Sacha Baron Cohen’s wife admits it’s not a normal life

Sacha Baron Cohen’s wife admits it’s not a normal life

The wife of Sacha Baron Cohen says she doesn’t live a “normal” life with The Dictator actor.

Actress Isla Fisher married him in 2010 and although she admits “it’s not a normal life to lead,” she does love it.

Fisher says: “Obviously it’s not pleasant to say to your husband – instead of ‘Did you pick up the dry cleaning?’ or ‘Did you pick up someone from a play date?’ – ‘Oh wow are we getting sued? Has anyone put a death threat on us?'”

The couple have two young daughters and in 2009 it was reported that Baron Cohen had received death threats due to controversy over his gay fashionista character Bruno.

With that in mind, and being the person closest to him, does Isla Fisher ever feel she can censor the words that come out of Sacha Baron Cohen’s creations?

“Oh, of course,” Fisher reveals. “There’s a lot of, ‘Oh my gosh, no you cannot say that! We’re friends with that person, blah, blah, blah, no!'”

Isla at the London premiere of “The Dictator”

As I had hoped, Isla attended the world premiere of The Dictator in London on Thursday! She looked beautiful in a silver-blue lace Dolce & Gabanna dress, raspberry patent Dior heels, and super-pretty matching sparkly pink earrings and ring. I love this look on her, and it’s so great to see her all dressed up on the red carpet again, especially to support her husband.

Isla’s make-up artist for the event, Kay Montano, told heatworld.com how she gave Isla her healthy glow:

“My inspiration for Isla’s look was fairytale red carpet chic to accentuate Isla’s classic Celtic ethereal skin and youthful complexion,” says Kay. “To copy the exact look I gave Isla for the global premiere of The Dictator, apply a full coat of St.Tropez Naturals Self Tan Lotion, £26.55, to your body for a subtle, understated glow. Limit the amount of heavy foundation you need by applying St.Tropez Naturals Radiance Self Tan For Face, £21.45, to your cheeks which will add a gentle boost of warmth. The range has been specifically designed for sensitive skin types however, do be bold and use the luxe cream on your legs, arms and décolletage for a sophisticated, dewy finish.”

120+ photos from the premiere have been added to the Gallery, over 90 of which are in gorgeous HQ!

Sacha Baron Cohen Apologises To Seacrest For Oscars Ashes Stunt

Sacha Baron Cohen has apologised to Ryan Seacrest for the ash-spilling prank he pulled on the TV presenter at the Oscars in February (12).

The funnyman dressed as the title character from his new film The DICtator to walk the red carpet at the Hollywood awards show, and tipped what he claimed to be late North Korean leader Kim Jong-Il’s remains all over the American Idol host in a stunt to promote the movie.

However, backstage at this weekend’s (05-06May12) Saturday Night Live show, Cohen made amends with Seacrest – and the actor’s wife Isla Fisher also apologised for her husband’s antics.

Speaking on his radio show on Monday (07May12), Seacrest revealed, “I saw Isla Fisher and I said hi, and she said these words, and then it dawned on me. She said, ‘I apologise for my husband.’ And I said, ‘Oh, yes, yes, gotcha, thank you, thank you very much for saying that’… I didn’t realise her husband, The DICtator, Sacha Baron Cohen, was doing a walk-on cameo (on the show).

“He comes off stage, comes over to me, breaks character and says sorry about the Oscars, it wasn’t personal. (He was) very very apologetic and genuine and kind and sweet.”

Cohen also told Seacrest he wasn’t the original target for the prank.

Seacrest adds, “He started telling me how it went down. Originally he said that they were going to spill whatever it was in that urn on George Clooney. Someone decided that wasn’t a great idea because he was up for a lot of nominations, it was a big night that night. Then they somehow spun the wheel of tragedy and landed on my name.”
