“Godmothered” release date and first still

This week Disney+ announced that Godmothered will premiere on the streaming service on December 4th! We have also an official synopsis and the first still of Isla in the film:

Set at Christmas time, “Godmothered” is a comedy about Eleanor, a young, inexperienced fairy godmother-in-training (Jillian Bell), who upon hearing that her chosen profession is facing extinction, decides to show the world that people still need fairy godmothers. Finding a mislaid letter from a 10-year-old girl in distress, Eleanor tracks her down and discovers that the girl, Mackenzie, is now a 40-year-old single mom (Isla Fisher) working at a news station in Boston. Having lost her husband several years earlier, Mackenzie has all but given up on the idea of “happily ever after,” but Eleanor is bound and determined to give Mackenzie a happiness makeover, whether she likes it or not.

The cast also includes Santiago Cabrera, Mary Elizabeth Ellis, Jane Curtin, June Squibb, Jillian Shea Spaeder, Willa Skye, Artemis Pebdani, Utkarsh Ambudkar, and Stephnie Weir. Sharon Maguire (Bridget Jones’s Diary) directs with a script from Kari Granlund and Melissa Stack. Justin Springer (Dumbo, TRON: Legacy) produced the TV movie, with executive producers including Diane L. Sabatini (Lady and the Tramp), Tom Pollock (Ghostbusters: Afterlife), Ivan Reitman (Ghostbusters), and Amie Karp (Ghostbusters: Afterlife).

The Godmothered original soundtrack, from Walt Disney Records, featuring the score by Oscar-winning composer Rachel Portman (Emma, A Dog’s Purpose), plus the end credit songs “Rise Up (Joy to the World)” and “Hero” performed by Jillian Shea Spaeder, will be available on all digital formats on Dec. 4. The score was produced by Portman and was recorded with the Chamber Orchestra of London at AIR Lyndhurst and Abbey Road Studios.

Isla attends “Borat Subsequent Moviefilm” Screening

Isla attended a low-key screening for her husband’s new movie Borat Subsequent Moviefilm a few weeks ago. Several of their famous friends joined Sacha for a photo, and although Isla was not snapped with them, she had a moment with a Borat cut-out by herself 😉 She posted a photo on her Instagram, and we’ve added this to our Gallery. Borat Subsequent Moviefilm is available now on Amazon Prime Video and highly recommended!

Mill Valley Film Festival “Blithe Spirit” Q&A

Blithe Spirit received its world premiere at the Mill Valley Film Festival on October 8th, and although there could be no red carpet due to the pandemic, Isla and the director Ed Parker took part in a virtual Q&A to promote the film – our first official sighting of Isla since the start of the year! Isla talked about what she liked about the film, bringing some “modern fun” to the story, how she understood her character, spiritualism and seance’s, and “otherworldly things” happening on set. Have a watch below, and find screencaptures in our Gallery:

Isla’s upcoming supernatural comedy Blithe Spirit has found a US distributor, although there is no release date planned as yet other than ‘in the Fall’. And the UK distributor, Studio Canal, announce that the film will be released in the UK on December 26th this year. The first few stills from the film were released recently too, and you can find them in our Gallery.

Gallery update – 2019 Appearances

To finish off our string of updates catching up on missing appearance photos, over the last few weeks we’ve completed the 2019 appearances. Over 850 additional HQ photos from Isla’s appearances this year have been added – she attended several events to promote both hers and Sacha’s projects. I loved her outfits for the BAFTA LA Tea Party, Emmys and Golden Globes, but she (again) pulled out all the stops for the Vanity Fair Oscars After Party in a stunning silver beaded Jonathan Simkhai dress – another one of my all-time favourite looks of hers! Big thanks to our friend Maria for several of these photos.

Next up, we’ll be updating some of our content, and replacing some movie photos/screencaptures with better quality versions 🙂 Let us know if there’s anything in particular you’d like to see more of here!

“Greed” HD Film Screencaptures

Isla’s latest film Greed was released on digital/DVD/blu-ray earlier this week, and today we’ve added HD screencaptures from the film. The satire film centered around high street fashion mogul Richard McCreadie, and the preparations for his lavish 60th birthday celebrations and story of how he built his empire; Isla played his ex-wife Samantha in a small (but present) supporting role. The film was watchable and funny at times, but missed the mark in getting its point across in a memorable way. Isla was fun and as always the highlight! Enjoy the screencaptures:
