Shopaholic On Set Pics & Release Date News

I have updated the gallery with two sets of Shopaholic on set pics, taken in New York City in the past few days. Enjoy Isla’s quirky fashion in these cute shots!

Some exciting news:

Now that the writer’s strike has finally come to close, Disney has announced its feature releases through 2009 and early 2010. Disney has decided to make Isla Fisher-Hugh Dancy romantic comedy Confessions of a Shopaholic its 2009 Valentine’s Day release.

So unfortunately the film will not be release late this year unlike earlier reported but at least it should be pretty big same time next year.

Cosmopolitan – March 2008

Miss Isla is featured in the March issue of US Cosmopolitan. Thanks to my dear friend Mycah we now have a scan of Isla’s page. It has a few quote snippets plus a gorgeous shot (which we have seen before). Here’s my favorite quote from it:

“Comedy has always been important in my family. If you got in a good joke at the dinner table, it meant more than almost anything else.”

Definitely, Maybe New York Premiere Photos

As earlier reported, Isla and the Definitely, Maybe cast attended the world premiere of their movie yesterday in New York City. This is Isla’s first red carpet event since giving birth to Olive and she certainly looked amazing in her little black dress and tights. I love her hair like this, long and curly. Va-va-voom! 76 pictures have been uploaded from this event.

Edit: 41 more HQ photos added!

ComingSoon.net & USA Today Articles

Check out these two new features on Miss Fisher, from ComingSoon.net and USA Today:

Isla Fisher on Definitely, Maybe
‘Maybe’ star Isla Fisher is a new mom, but definitely don’t ask!

Both are great reads, especially USA Today. Isla talks about Hollywood’s body fascism, her love for Juno and privacy. It seems that every single article pays special emphasis on Isla’s decision not to talk about Olive and sort of portrays her like she was being rude about it. I, for one, definitely respect her decision to not discuss her baby and private life in the press.

“I’m choosy, definitely,” Fisher says. “I’ve made a lot of product in my life that I’m not proud of. I’ve had to work. Now that I’m fortunate enough to get to choose, I’m fussy. Now, I don’t have to make decisions as much from fear. It’s given me freedom.”

Last but not least, check out this stunning image from the USA Today article on your left.

The Times & OK! (February 2008) Scans

Isla is featured in a couple of British mags at the moment to promote Definitely, Maybe (which opened here yesterday), including today’s edition of The Times Magazine and the February 12 issue of OK!. I’ve scanned both mags for the site. Both are pretty bad paper quality but I tried my best to get around it. I’ve also added the Times article here.

Fisher has put in many years of hard graft to get where she is, and it hasn’t all been plain sailing. She was five when she saw fellow redhead Ann-Margret in an Elvis film and decided that she’d like to be a redhead in an Elvis movie, too. “When you’re younger, being a redhead is… well, my two brothers teased me no end,” she says. “So I was really excited to see a redhead on film. But also my mum was in amateur dramatics and I would go every night and sit in the wings and watch her on stage, so… I saw practically what it was like – the excitement and exhilaration of being on stage, backstage, watching make-up being put on, the costume changes.”
