Isla at the BookExpo ‘Do I Amuse You?’ panel

Isla has started promotion for her children’s book Marge In Charge in the US, attending BookExpo in New York. On Thursday she attended the ‘Do I Amuse You?’ panel and spoke about what motivates her humour, alongside Denis Leary and John Hodgman. Isla looked summery in a little blue floral dress by Kate Spade – find HQ photos in our Gallery, and watch the video of the panel below. There are lots of fan photos on Twitter – I’ve added them to a ‘Moment’ on our Twitter, and you can also find them further down this post…

Do I amuse you? Isla Fisher (Marge in Charge – HarperCollins), John Hodgman (Vacationland: True Stories from Painful Beaches – Viking), and Denis Leary (Why We Don’t Suck – Crown Archetype) represent a spectrum of comedians who excel on the big screen, the small screen, and on the page. During this stage talk, they’ll explore the quirks, the ups, and even the downs of their lives that fuel their laughter and led them to write such a diverse array of books. James West, Senior Digital Editor of Mother Jones, will moderate (BookExpoAmerica.com)

La Ligne in La-La Land: Sara and Erin Foster Host an Intimate Dinner in Hollywood

La Ligne is navigating the wardrobes of some of the most influential and powerful women of the world. With a series of shirts, sweaters, pajamas, and dresses in classic silhouettes that can easily fit into any wardrobe as a staple for any occasion, it’s no surprise that the Angeleno’s laid-back lifestyle would embrace the brand’s iconic stripes. Last night, a group of stripe-clad women gathered to toast La Ligne and its latest West Coast venture, a pop-up shop at Theory’s Melrose store. “We try to make it about celebrating women who we think are inspiring, fascinating, interesting, smart, and entrepreneurial,” toasted cofounder Molly Howard along with Meredith Melling, who acknowledged the room of friends including Courtney Cox, Nicole Richie, Jennifer Meyer, and Kris Jenner. Guests dined on perfectly prepared delicate plates of sushi, served omakase-style from Hollywood staple Sushi Park, where sisters and cohosts Erin and Sara Foster posed for selfies with friends Rachel Zoe and Kelly Sawyer. After the blue crab hand roll (the final course for any fete at Sushi Park), guests were treated to classic green tea, strawberry, and chocolate ice cream mochi, before taking their stripes to the streets to show La Ligne it belongs in the city of stars.

Netflix’s ‘Fauda’ Co-Creator, Star Teases Season 2: ‘It’s Going to Have a Lot of Action’

Isla Fisher, Ayelet Zurer (“Munich,” “Shtisel”) and Lior Raz, co-creator and star of Netflix breakout hit “Fauda,” were among those on hand Thursday night (May 18th) at a fundraising soiree held at a private residence in Los Angeles to benefit the Cord, an Israel-based organization founded in 1999 by Igal and Dana Goldstein that serves troubled and homeless youth. Guests, which also included Israeli actress Moran Atias (“24,” “Tyrant”) and Consul General of Israel in Los Angeles, Sam Grundwerg, partied to live music and dined on kosher Mediterranean cuisine.

“The work that the Cord does is so important not only because of the immediate help that it provides troubled youth, but because it also provides much needed life skills so that these kids can help themselves,” said Grundwerg. “The Cord provides hope.”

Thanks @islafisher for a great eve and for supporting this amazing organization! ? #thecord #hollywood #islafisher

Event host Raz, who based “Fauda” on his own his experiences as an undercover operative in the Israel Defense Forces, offered up a free plane ticket to Israel and a walk-on part in Season 2 of the series, which begins shooting next month. In exchange for a $5,000 donation to the org, an offer snapped up for an inflated $7,000 by one enthusiastic attendee.

Raz also opened up about the initial struggle to get “Fauda” sold, and his continued surprise at the series’ commercial and critical success.

Isla at the Vanity Fair Oscars Party

Isla and her husband attended the Vanity Fair Oscars After Party in Hollywood last week. Isla looked vibrant in a yellow gown by Aussie designer Alex Perry, and accessorised with a Swarovski purse and Stuart Weitzman heels. Isla joked that she was “auditioning for Beauty & The Beast” in this outfit! Inside the party she mingled with friends including Reese Witherspoon and Diane Kruger. Isla at the AACTA International Awards

Fresh from her recent Trailblazer honour at the AACTA Awards, Isla attended the AACTA International Awards in Los Angeles on Friday. This international version of the AACTAs is their opportunity to celebrate the best non-Australian films of the year. Isla attended with her husband, and presented the award for Best Actress to fellow red-head Emma Stone for La La Land. Emma snuck on behind Isla on stage to accept the award, and the two shouted ‘surprise’ at each other simultaneously; Isla said afterwards, “I was completed surprised, but why I said ‘surprise’ was because everyone was coming out of their seats from the audience, and Emma just came out from behind me … I really enjoyed it.” Isla was also snapped with her Aussie friend Nicole Kidman backstage. Isla looked gorgeous in a floor-length flowing yellow gown by Monique Lhuillier with jewellery by Tasaki – I love this look on her, she pulls it off perfectly! We have over 100 gorgeous HQ photos in our Gallery for you, and scroll on down this post for a couple of articles/interviews from the night…

Isla at the AACTA’s

As expected, Isla attended the Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts Awards (AACTAs) in Sydney earlier today, where she was presented with the Trailblazer Award. She was accompanied on the red carpet by her husband, and her mum Elspeth was inside for the ceremony with them. Isla was presented with her award – which she calls the “pinnacle” of her career – by Aussie actor Geoffrey Rush, and thanked fellow Aussie actresses and fellow orange person Donald Trump in her speech! Isla wore a classy black crystal polka dot dress by Aussie designer, with Bulgari jewellery. Read more from the night in the posts below (many of the links have good red carpet video interviews and ceremony footage in them that can’t be embedded here) and find the first HQ photos in our Gallery. Check back in the coming days for more coverage!

Congratulations to Isla on this fantastic honour – and on her 15th anniversary with Sacha! 🙂
