Isla and Sacha at the BAFTA Los Angeles Britannia Awards

Last month, Isla and Sacha attended the BAFTA Los Angeles Britannia Awards in Los Angeles, where Sacha was honoured with the Charlie Chaplin Britannia Award for Excellence in Comedy. Isla looked absolutely gorgeous in a floor length white gown by Burberry with Kwiat jewellry, and she and Sacha look so happy together! I’ve now added a massive 192 HQ photos from the event to our Gallery for your viewing pleasure – there are lots of fabulous shots in there for you to enjoy. Big thanks to our friends Celyn and Lindsey for their help with these pics.

Further down this post is a snippet of info about the award Sacha received, plus a clip from the presentation of his award, which features some shots of the two of them watching in the audience.

The Britannia Awards: Sacha Baron Cohen

BAFTA Los Angeles presented Sacha Baron Cohen with a Britannia Award for comedy in 2013.

The Britannia Awards are BAFTA Los Angeles’ highest accolade, a celebration of achievements honoring individuals and companies that have dedicated their careers to advancing the entertainment arts. In 2013, actor, writer and producer Sacha Baron Cohen was honored with the Charlie Chaplin Britannia Award for Excellence in Comedy.

The award was presented at the annual gala ceremony in November 9 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. The presentation was made by actress Salma Hayek who described Sacha to have “consistently demonstrated total courage as an artist. He has literally risked his life to make us laugh.” Salma’s speech was followed by a rather shocking incident when Sacha took to the stage to accept his Britannia.

Isla Fisher, Ellen Barkin, Jim Parsons Haunt Blumhouse Thriller ‘Visions’

Isla Fisher, Ellen Barkin, Jim Parsons Haunt Blumhouse Thriller ‘Visions’

Blumhouse continues to refine its micro-budget genre formula, and it looks like one evolving factor is the casts are getting better. Jason Blum’s division is negotiating with Isla Fisher, Ellen Barkin and Jim Parsons to star in Visions, a Kevin Greutert-directed thriller that Blumhouse International is selling at AFM. In the Lucas Sussman-scripted film, a pregnant woman joins her husband at his vineyard home and begins to have unsettling visions that get increasingly more realistic and terrifying.

Fisher’s coming off Baz Luhrmann’s The Great Gatsby, Barkin is starring with Robert De Niro and Edgar Ramirez in the Roberto Duran pic Hands Of Stone, and Big Bang Theory‘s Parsons wrapped Zach Braff’s Wish I Was Here. They are all repped by CAA. Barkin is additionally repped by Untitled after she signed there last week.

Amy Adams Doesn’t Get Why People Mistake Her for Isla Fisher

Amy Adams Doesn’t Get Why People Mistake Her for Isla Fisher

Nope, Amy Adams is not married to Sacha Baron Cohen. That’s Isla Fisher.

And it’s Fisher in Wedding Crashers, not Amy Adams.

While it seems perfectly reasonable to mix up the two redheaded bombshells – they have a similar look, they’re two years apart in age – Adams is 39 and Fisher is 37 – and an inch apart in height – Adams says she doesn’t understand why there’s any confusion.

“I get Isla Fisher all the time, still. And I know Isla, and for a while our kids went to the same dance school. When I’m with Isla, we both look at one another and … I get it but I don’t get it,” the actress tells Vanity Fair in their January cover story.

“But just like I tell her, it could be a lot worse. I could be mistaken for a lot worse people.”

Here’s a helpful hint: Adams is the one starring alongside Bradley Cooper and Christian Bale in American Hustle, out in theaters Dec. 13.

“The Great Gatsby” leads AACTA nominations

Huge congratulations to Isla for her Best Supporting Actress nomination at the Aussie AACTA Awards!

The Great Gatsby leads AACTA nominations

Baz Luhrmann’s blockbuster The Great Gatsby has led the nominations for the 3rd annual AACTA Awards with 14 nods, closely followed by Kim Mordaunt’s independent film The Rocket

The two are vastly different Australian features. The Great Gatsby is a razzle dazzle adaptation of an American classic novel, while The Rocket, which earned 12 nominations, is a low-budget, foreign-language feature, filmed entirely in Laos with a lead actor plucked from the streets.

It means come January, Leonardo DiCaprio will face off against former street kid Sitthiphon “Ki” Disamoe for Best Lead Actor, while Luhrmann and Mordaunt are both in the running for Best Direction, alongside Ivan Sen for Mystery Road and the 17 directors of The Turning.

The two features are also up for Best Film alongside Dead Europe, Mystery Road, Satellite Boy and The Turning.

The AACTA (Australian Academy of Cinema and Television Arts) CEO Damian Trewhella says the nominations show the range of films our country is producing.

“The film and television productions that have been acknowledged this year are so incredibly diverse and as an ensemble illustrate our breadth of screen talent,” he said in a statement on Tuesday.
