As well as Fashion magazine, Isla can also be seen on the cover of California Style magazine this month! She looks sparkly in blue on the cover of their April issue, and the photos inside are simple yet colourful and pretty. It’s so exciting seeing her on the cover of not just one, but two magazines at the moment!
The cover and photoshoot can be seen in our Gallery. Further down this post are some quotes and tidbits from the interview. Again, if anyone can provide us with scans from this magazine then drop us a line and we’ll give you lots of credit & thanks 🙂
“It’s definitely not a normal relationship. You know there have been times in the past with the guerrilla style film making of ‘Borat’ and ‘Bruno’ where there were surreal conversations: “How many people are suing us? Are you wanted in any states? Are you alive?””
“I love the focus on family, food and laughter. You know, I didn’t get to go to university because I’ve been acting since I was a kid. So for me, studying theology was also fascinating. I love Judaism.” [on Judaism]
“I would love to. But I think we are collaborating on enough. We’re doing out most difficult, most wonderful screenplays: a five year old and a two-year-old at home. I feel that’s the most important collaboration.”
“I feel like all weekend I cooked, set the table, fed everybody, cleaned up, put everything in the dishwasher, waited til dishwasher was finished, unloaded and repeated three times a day.”
“I needed a little push. It’s so embarrassing admitting that you think you’re funny. Even though he has to say that because he’s my husband.”
“I breastfed both my kids for two years so, you know it was very tiring emotionally and physically.”
“I’m not sure I’d want to do another lead at this juncture in my life. It’s why ensemble pieces are so attractive to me.”
Isla has recently read ‘Mindfulness: An Eight Week Plan for Finding Peace in a Frantic World’.
