Movie Studios Line Up Super Bowl Commercials

With less than a week remaining until this Sunday’s Super Bowl XLV, football fans are gearing up for the showdown between the Green Bay Packers and the Pittsburgh Steelers. But for everyone else, the game means brand new commercials and, in this case, movie trailers!

30-second ads during the most-watched event of the year ran the studios roughly $3 million this year, up slightly from 2010 when a record 106 million people watched the big game, according to THR. It seems as though Fox and Warner Bros are either sitting this one out or keeping their ads under wraps. We’ll be posting those movie-related commercials right here as they come online, but, for now, here is a list of what to expect on Sunday:

Rango (Paramount): An animated film directed by Gore Verbinski about a chameleon that aspires to be a swashbuckling hero, but finds himself in a Western town plagued by bandits and is forced to literally play the role in order to protect it. Starring (the voices of) Johnny Depp, Timothy Olyphant, Abigail Breslin, Isla Fisher, Bill Nighy.
