Isla Fisher Joins Jake Gyllenhaal, Amy Adams in ‘Nocturnal Animals’

Isla Fisher is in talks to join Jake Gyllenhaal and Amy Adams in Tom Ford’s “Nocturnal Animals.”

Michael Shannon, Aaron-Taylor Johnson and Armie Hammer also star in the film, which Ford is writing, directing and producing. This film is Ford’s follow-up to his directorial debut “A Single Man” starring Colin Firth.

Focus Features is handling worldwide distribution after winning a bidding war this past May at the Cannes Film Festival.

The movie is an adaptation of Austin Wright’s 1993 novel, “Tony and Susan.” The first of the two-part story follows a woman (Adams) who receives a book manuscript from her ex-husband, who she left 20 years earlier, asking for her opinion. The second half revolves around a man (Gyllenhaal) whose family vacation turns violent. Fisher will play Laura Hastings, Tony’s wife.

Fisher most recently wrapped the Fox 2000 pic “Keeping Up with Joneses,” opposite Jon Hamm and Gal Gadot, and can be seen next in Lionsgate’s action comedy “Grimsby,” opposite husband Sacha Baron Cohen and Mark Strong.

Fisher is repped by UTA, Mosaic and Warren Dern. The news was first reported by Deadline Hollywood.

“Arrested Development” Gallery and episode guide update

Over the last few weeks I’ve been updating the site with content from Isla’s guest role in Arrested Development. Isla played Rebel Alley in season 4 of TV comedy back in 2013. The entire season can be streamed online at Netflix if you want to catch it, and it’s worth it for Isla. The Filmography page for the series has been updated with extensive information on Isla’s role in the season including an episode guide with quotes, and we have HD screencaptures from all episodes in our Gallery.

“Life Of Crime” Gallery Update

The Gallery has recently been updated with photos from Isla’s 2013 release Life Of Crime, including stills, posters, trailer screencaptures and HD film screencaptures. Isla played Melanie in the comedy-crime film. While not one of my favourite movies of Isla’s, she did play a pivotal and interesting role, and she brought her usual charm and humour to the film!

Melanie: “I mean, you’re a hunk, but you’re a piss-poor extortionist if you don’t mind me saying. Let’s be honest, this could’ve been set-up a whole lot better.”

First trailer and stills from “Visions”

The first trailer for Isla’s creepy new thriller Visions has just been released, and accompanying it are the first poster and a big batch of stills from the movie. Isla plays the role of Eveleigh in the film directed by Kevin Greutert. Visions will be released in Singapore on September 17th. No word on any international release dates as yet unfortunately…. it’s been too long since we’ve seen Isla on screen!!

Leaving her hectic city lifestyle behind, young mother-to-be Eveleigh joins her husband David at their beautiful new vineyard home only to be plagued by terrifying noises and visions of a sinister hooded figure. No one else hears or sees these hallucinations, not even David, who grows increasingly worried about his wife’s well-being.

Desperate to prove her sanity, Eveleigh hunts down locals who reveal the haunted history of the vineyard in which she now resides. But when the pieces come together, the answer is far different – and more dangerous to her and her baby – than she ever imagined.
