New Layout at Isla Fisher Web!

After 2 years with the previous layout, as you can see we now have a fabulous new layout here at Isla Fisher Web! This bold and beautiful layout was made for us by former owner Mycah, and I love it! I think it really matches Isla’s vibrant, bold and colourful personality. So I hope you lovely visitors enjoy it too – leave a comment if you’d like to say something!

Along with the new layout comes a major site re-vamp – almost. I’m converting the content over to a new format (won’t make a difference for you, don’t worry) and updating and adding to it as I do so. This is taking a while, though! So you can see what’s to come on each of the sections linked in the navigation, but none of the pages work yet. I’m getting to work on it asap, so please be patient. Once this is done Isla Fisher Web will be brimming with all the fun and informative Isla content you could hope for!

I’ll also be re-vamping the Gallery/Media section, but look out for more news on that in the near future.

I hope you all like the new layout, and check back here regularly for Isla-tastic updates 🙂 If you have any suggestions for content or updates – anything – then don’t hesitate to give me a shout and I will get right on that.

Isla to voice the Tooth Fairy in animated “Rise of the Guardians”

Chris Pine, Hugh Jackman, Jude Law, Alec Baldwin and Isla Fisher will voice the lead roles in DreamWorks Animation’s 3D epic “Rise of the Guardians.”

Peter Ramsey is directing the pic based on “The Guardians of Childhood,” an upcoming series of children’s books by William Joyce, who will co-direct.

Guillermo del Toro and Michael Siegel are exec producing, while Christina Steinberg and Nancy Bernstein will serve as producers.

Pulitzer Prize winner David Lindsay-Abaire wrote the screenplay, which follows a group of heroic childhood legends, each with extraordinary abilities. When Pitch (Law), an evil spirit akin to the boogeyman, lays down the gauntlet to take over the world, the immortal Guardians must join forces for the first time to protect the hopes, beliefs and imagination of children all over the world.

Project was originally announced in December 2009, with Leonardo DiCaprio voicing Jack Frost, a role Pine will be taking over. He’ll be joined by Jackman’s Bunnymund (the Easter Bunny), Baldwin’s North (Santa Claus) and Fisher’s Tooth (the Tooth Fairy).

“It’s a thrill to be working with such an all-star team of actors and filmmakers,” Bill Damaschke, DWA’s chief creative officer, said in a statement to Variety. “When we bring Bill Joyce’s imaginative vision to the screen in 2012, audiences will experience an incredible story with a truly epic sense of adventure.”

DWA will release the film on Nov. 21, 2012.

“Rango” given MPAA rating of PG

The Motion Picture Association of America’s Classification and Ratings Administration dished out ratings for Rango and Something Borrowed in their weekly bulletin this afternoon.

Rango was rated PG for “rude humor, language, action and smoking.” While a PG is a somewhat rare rating for an animated movie, it’s not altogether surprising for Rango given its western setting. Directed by Gore Verbinski and featuring the vocal talents of Johnny Depp, Rango opens March 4 opposite Beastly, The Adjustment Bureau and Take Me Home Tonight.

Kelly Brook, Rachel Stevens and Isla Fisher support JCC

Kelly Brook, Rachel Stevens and Isla Fisher are among more than 40 celebrities who have decorated bras for an online charity auction for the Jewish Community Centre for London and breast cancer charity Cancerkin.

Other contributors include Joanna Lumley, Arlene Phillips, Dannii Minogue, Jo Brand and Esther Rantzen. The bras, donated by Triumph, will also be displayed at an event at London’s Comedy Store next month featuring Tracy-Ann Oberman and Ivor Baddiel.

JCC creative director Juliet Simmons said: “We’re absolutely thrilled that so many well known names have embraced our Big Bra Auction and have loved seeing how imaginative everyone’s been. We hope to raise lots of money.”

Actress Maureen Lipman – who decorated her bra with a picture of two birds – was happy to join “so many bosom friends for such upright causes”.

Happy New Year from Isla Fisher Web

I’d like to wish you all a very Happy New Year! I hope you have a fun night if you’re celebrating tonight, and that 2011 is a wonderful and happy year for you!

Professionally it’s been a very quiet year for Miss Isla, although personally she’s (reportedly) had a pretty fantastic year, what with a marriage and new baby! Early next we’ll be treated to hearing Isla in the animated comedy Rango, and hopefully we’ll get some other new projects too. Thanks for your support of Isla Fisher Web this year – the site has undergone a change in owner and I hope to continue bringing you the best on Isla in 2011!

Screencaps from the “Rango” Featurette

I’ve added screencaps from the new Rango featurette that I posted just before Christmas. It looks like a funny movie and Isla will no doubt be hilarious!

I hope those of you that celebrate it had a wonderful Christmas. Stay tuned for a new layout and content updates early in the new year!!
