Isla often talks about the difficulties faced resulting from husband Sacha Baron Cohen’s controversial films, and I just came across this one, in which Sacha recalled how Isla tried to save him when he met a sportsman from Kazakhstan. It’s from an interview Sacha gave on The Howard Stern radio show earlier this year when he was promoting Grimsby… 😆

It’s not secret that Sacha loves to offend people so Howard wanted to know if that ever backfired in his real life.

Sacha told Howard a story how he ran into Olympic gold medalist and former boxing heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko at a restaurant a few years ago. Normally, that wouldn’t be a big deal but Mr. Klitschko is from Kazakhstan, the country Sacha’s Borat character claims as home.

A waiter approached Sacha at the restaurant and told him that Klitschko would love to meet him. Sacha walked over to his table and extended his hand, which Klitschko firmly gripped with no intention of letting go.

Soon Sacha’s wife and fellow actor Isla Fisher came over pretending to be a massive fan and asked for an autograph so Wladimir would release her husband’s hand, but that proved to not work as the former heavyweight pulled Sacha closer and quietly told him: “You humiliated my country. I’m from Kazakstan. Why did you do that?”

“I’m actually looking for stuff on the table to grab hold of and like, get a fork and stab him,” Sacha half-joked to Howard.

The actor pleaded with him that it was only a joke and after a painful three minutes, Wladimir started to laugh and told Sacha he was joking and didn’t mind the film at all. In fact, he said he thought it was funny.

Isla appears on the front cover of The Daily Mail newspaper’s Sunday ‘You’ magazine supplement today, with a fantastic new interview to promote the upcoming release of her children’s book ‘Marge In Charge‘. In the interview, Isla talks about her career, why she enjoys reading and writing, her favourite children’s books, social media, aging, and who she’d like to work with in the future. Alongside this is a fun and colourful new photoshoot.

The Daily Mail also published an extract from the book to give us a sneak peek of Marge.

Read the interview below, and find the book extract at The Daily Mail website.

‘I wish I had the secret to balancing it all as a mum’: Actress Isla Fisher on juggling movies with motherhood and writing her way out of a midlife crisis

When Great Gatsby actress Isla Fisher (aka Mrs Sacha Baron Cohen) came to a crossroads in her life, she shook things up by making bedtime more interesting – both for her children and herself. In the process she found a new career, as Miranda Thompson discovers

When your films are Oscar-winning and you’re half of one of Hollywood’s hottest couples, what’s left to achieve? For The Great Gatsby’s Isla Fisher, it was simply a case of returning to a long-held passion: writing.

Away from the LA stardust, the actress, who turned 40 this year, is a self-confessed bibliophile who devoured two books a week before the arrival of her children with A-list husband Sacha Baron Cohen (the man behind Borat and Ali G). At 18, long before Hollywood came calling, she also published two young adult novels (co-written with her mum) in between stints on Aussie soap Home and Away.

This summer, Isla will be back in the bookshop with her comic children’s novel, Marge in Charge, which stars the eponymous Marge – a pint-sized babysitter with rainbow hair and a penchant for causing mayhem. Isla invented the character as a bedtime story and was inspired to put pen to paper after her brood kept requesting more of her.

The wellbeing of children is clearly important to Isla. In December last year, she and Sacha made the headlines for their £670,000 donation to charities working with victims of the conflict in Syria. ‘There are 8.4 million children in need in Syria and its neighbouring countries,’ she says. ‘We are facing the biggest humanitarian crisis since World War Two.’ Their donation paid for measles vaccinations for more than 250,000 children.

Isla and Sacha previewed a scene from Grimsby for Courteney Cox and the Kardashians recently:

Sacha Baron Cohen and Isla Fisher Dish on Their Movie Night With Kim Kardashian and Kanye West

Sacha Baron Cohen and Isla Fisher don’t always have movie nights with the Kardashians, but it sure is fun when they do!

Earlier this week The Brothers Grimsby stars and real-life spouses headed over to Kris Jenner’s house to give Kim Kardashian, Kanye West and Kourtney Kardashian an early screening of their new R-rated comedy. Momager Kris’ boyfriend Corey Gamble was also there for the star-studded get together, and so was Courteney Cox with her daughter Coco Arquette!

The Brothers Grimsby was a hit with the Kardashian-West gang, but we were all left wondering how the heck this movie night came together. Well, E! News’ Erin Lim caught up with the stars Thursday at the premiere of The Brothers Grimsby, and Isla explained just how organically one of her friends set the whole thing up.

“Well, I had never met them [the Kardashian-Jenner-West bunch] before, and my husband asked Courteney Cox—since our movie is so quintessentially English—do you know an average American family that can see it and tell us what it’s like?” she said. “Smash cut to the Kardashians in the living room!”

“They really laughed and they really loved the movie, so fingers crossed that everybody else likes it too,” added Isla. “Because, of all [Sacha’s] comic characters, I’ve gotta say that this one’s my favorite.”

Isla Fisher discusses her and Sacha Baron Cohen’s charity donation: ‘I wanted it to be private’

Isla Fisher has addressed the large charity donation she and husband Sacha Baron Cohen made last year.

The couple gave over £670,000 to charity over Christmas last year.

They donated £336,000 to The Sunday Times Christmas appeal to help children in Syria in the wake of a threatened measles outbreak there. They also gave the same amount to International Rescue Committee, run by David Miliband in New York.

Now Aussie actress Fisher has spoken about the generous donations, saying that although she would have preferred it kept out of the headlines, she is glad that the publicity has highlighted issues she cares deeply about.

She told Metro.co.uk: ‘I think that it’s been very hard watching the international community really do nothing about the Syria situation for a long time, so I was actually…when you make a donation you do want it to be private, but I think it’s important that we highlight the issues that are going on for children in Syria because it’s very serious.’

As posted about earlier, Isla and Sacha attended the BAFTA Awards in London this evening, and I’ve now added the first photos from the event to our Gallery. Isla wore a simple white dress by Stella McCartney, accessorising with a Roger Vivier clutch, make-up by Emma Day and hair by Kerry Warn for John Frieda – she looks so elegant and classy! It’s great to see the couple on the red carpet again together.

Check out our coverage within this post (and the previous) ….

Sacha Baron Cohen Says Borat Is Probably Wife Isla Fisher’s Least-Favorite Character: ‘She’s Had to Make Love to All of Them’

Isla Fisher and Sacha Baron Cohen were the picture of glamour when they walked the red carpet on Sunday for the BAFTA Awards.

The couple, who share three children, held hands outside London’s Royal Opera House in complimentary looks.

Fisher, 40, stunned in a simple, white curve-hugging Stella McCartney gown with her red hair swept into old hollywood curls. Cohen, 44, donned a dark suit with a black bow-tie and white pocket square.

While on the red carpet, Cohen joked with PEOPLE about how his real life compared to the glamorous red carpet.

“Yes every day when I’m in the shower there at least 15 cameras in there,” the actor told PEOPLE.

Last month, Isla and Sacha attended the BAFTA Los Angeles Britannia Awards in Los Angeles, where Sacha was honoured with the Charlie Chaplin Britannia Award for Excellence in Comedy. I’ve now added a massive 192 HQ photos from the event to our Gallery for your viewing pleasure – there are lots of fabulous shots in there for you to enjoy. Big thanks to our friends Celyn and Lindsey for their help with these pics.

Further down this post is a snippet of info about the award Sacha received, plus a clip from the presentation of his award, which features some shots of the two of them watching in the audience.

BAFTA Los Angeles Britannia Awards x193

The Britannia Awards: Sacha Baron Cohen

BAFTA Los Angeles presented Sacha Baron Cohen with a Britannia Award for comedy in 2013.

The Britannia Awards are BAFTA Los Angeles’ highest accolade, a celebration of achievements honoring individuals and companies that have dedicated their careers to advancing the entertainment arts. In 2013, actor, writer and producer Sacha Baron Cohen was honored with the Charlie Chaplin Britannia Award for Excellence in Comedy.

The award was presented at the annual gala ceremony in November 9 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. The presentation was made by actress Salma Hayek who described Sacha to have “consistently demonstrated total courage as an artist. He has literally risked his life to make us laugh.” Salma’s speech was followed by a rather shocking incident when Sacha took to the stage to accept his Britannia.
