Cosmo also have an article about how to get Isla’s hair here.

Isla Fisher opens up to Cosmo!

Star of The Great Gatsby, and Now You See Me, Isla Fisher is the perfect Cosmo cover star! In the July issue she reveals all about the rejection she experienced at the start of her career, and how she overcame it.

You’d think having a famous husband like Sacha Baron Cohen, you’d be sorted in Hollywood. But apparently not! Isla revealed exclusively to Cosmo: “I really have had no help. In fact, the one time I did ask for help was after my agent in LA fired me. I was auditioning for all sorts of things but kept getting told ‘no’, so she just fired me! So anyway, I said to Sacha, who was my boyfriend at the time, ‘Can you ask your agent if they’ll represent me?’ And his agent said, ‘No way.’ It was the only favour I’d ever asked, and I was like, ‘OK… great’. But it spurred me on.”

Looking at Isla now – especially in this month’s Cosmo – you’d never realise she was once a wallflower. Speaking about her childhood, she said: “I went to something like six different schools before the age of 12, so I was always the new girl and had to make friends quickly. It was difficult at the start because I was very bookish – I was literally sat in the corner reading books, with no friends. So I learnt to be funny and to take the piss out of myself in order to ingratiate myself. I think it’s one of the best skills in life.”

Isla on the cover of South African Women’s Health magazine

South African fans can check out Isla looking fabulous on the cover of the new issue of their Women’s Health magazine! They have used the pictures and interview from Isla’s cover for the UK edition of the magazine from last year. We never managed to get scans of that UK edition (my scanner is hopeless) so now you will get to read the fantastic interview – and Isla’s favourite yoga exercises – that it had.

Isla in Australian Harper’s Bazaar magazine

Isla features in the pages of the June/July issue of Australian Harper’s Bazaar magazine, and thanks to our Aussie friend April, we have exclusive scans from the spread for you! The interview is mostly about Gatsby, and includes some great quotes from Baz Luhrmann and Catherine Martin about Isla. She also talks about her surprise at how her career has progressed, and that she considers her doppelganger Amy Adams a friend! Isla poses in various designer outfits in the brand new photoshoot. Read the interview at Stylist.co.uk or on our Press page, and find the cover and photoshoot pictures in our Gallery. If anyone can contribute scans of this then please get in touch, as we’d love to be able to see inside and share with everyone else 🙂

“The good thing about a drama is that everyone takes it seriously so you do feel like you can lose yourself in a scene. With comedy I can never do that because I’m always thinking ‘what’s something funny I could do now, how can I improvise, how can I make people laugh?'”
