Isla brightens up the cover of the July issue of UK Cosmopolitan magazine, with another brand new photoshoot and interview! Check out quotes from the interview and a behind the scenes video below, and find scans from the spread in our Gallery. Needless to say, Isla looks fantastic in the photos, and it is once again great to see her on the cover of a big magazine!

Isla Fisher opens up to Cosmo!
Star of The Great Gatsby, and Now You See Me, Isla Fisher is the perfect Cosmo cover star! In the July issue she reveals all about the rejection she experienced at the start of her career, and how she overcame it.
You’d think having a famous husband like Sacha Baron Cohen, you’d be sorted in Hollywood. But apparently not! Isla revealed exclusively to Cosmo: “I really have had no help. In fact, the one time I did ask for help was after my agent in LA fired me. I was auditioning for all sorts of things but kept getting told ‘no’, so she just fired me! So anyway, I said to Sacha, who was my boyfriend at the time, ‘Can you ask your agent if they’ll represent me?’ And his agent said, ‘No way.’ It was the only favour I’d ever asked, and I was like, ‘OK… great’. But it spurred me on.”
Looking at Isla now – especially in this month’s Cosmo – you’d never realise she was once a wallflower. Speaking about her childhood, she said: “I went to something like six different schools before the age of 12, so I was always the new girl and had to make friends quickly. It was difficult at the start because I was very bookish – I was literally sat in the corner reading books, with no friends. So I learnt to be funny and to take the piss out of myself in order to ingratiate myself. I think it’s one of the best skills in life.”

Isla and her Now You See Me co-stars walked the red carpet for a screening of their movie in Los Angeles last night. Isla’s date for the night was her mother, Elspeth Reid. Isla pulled off yet another winning look in a little black, white & blue embellished and patterned mini-dress, with a messy up-do – this is another new favourite for me, it’s so modern and fun and something really different from Isla. South African fans can check out Isla looking fabulous on the cover of the new issue of their Women’s Health magazine! They have used the pictures and interview from Isla’s cover for the UK edition of the magazine from last year. We never managed to get scans of that UK edition (my scanner is hopeless) so now you will get to read the fantastic interview – and Isla’s favourite yoga exercises – that it had.
Last night was the red carpet premiere for Now You See Me in New York City, and Isla and her co-stars were all in attendance! Isla looked incredible in a nude-coloured gown with black beaded detail, with her straight hair tied back in an up-do. I absolutely love this look on Isla, it’s so different for her, and it has immediately become one of my favourites of hers!
The first few HQ photos from the event can be seen in the Gallery, including a nice shot with co-star Jesse Eisenberg at the after-party. I will post more coverage from this event in the coming days!
