Bid on Isla’s Blanket

As part of the program, Toys’R’Us, Inc. and Save the Children have engaged celebrity moms to support the Bundled in Hope campaign by designing one-of-a-kind baby blankets that will be auctioned online. The entire winning auction bid will be donated to Save the Children to purchase and distribute blankets across the country and raise awareness for its programs in the United States.

Isla Fisher, mother to Olive, is an actress and author, best known for her starring roles in Wedding Crashers and Confessions of a Shopaholic. Her Australian roots inspired her to design an aquatic-themed baby blanket for the Bundled in Hope campaign, with bold, under the sea colors, including the deep blues, purples, & greens.

Bidding for this blanket starts on May 20. For more info, check out Toys’R’Us.com.

Scans from 2007

Now, I have a lot of Isla magazines and clippings at home, which I previously have not had the chance to scan. I am going to start catching up on scans from now on. For this update I added scans from four magazines dating back to 2007. The Details photos are easily some of my all time faves.

Elle – November 2008

Isla Fisher is featured in the new issue of Elle magazine with Nicole Kidman on the cover. We will have scans of the issue soon. You can already check out the article in our press archive and the stunning picture on your left.

“Women can be as broad as men can and so many are wasted playing the eye roller or the love interest,” she says. “There’s so many funny women—Amy Poehler, Tina Fey, Sarah Silverman, Anna Faris—and there’s an audience of women who are desperate to go out and see other women be funny.”

Shameless Promotion: Teresa Palmer Fan

Although this is not related to Isla, we wanted to take a moment to promote our new site (and Isla Fisher Web family site) for fellow Australian actress Teresa Palmer. She is known from her work in December Boys, 2:37 and Restraint, among others. Hop on over to www.teresapalmerfan.com to learn more about her!

Confessions of a Shopaholic Stills

Yesterday I asked for Shopaholic stills… And today we’ve got ’em! 😉

Check out the first seven stills from the movie and an interesting article from USA Today regarding the movie right below.

“I literally jumped up and down when I heard about the movie. I would have been the first one in the cinema even if I weren’t involved. I can’t tell you the number of women who have told me, ‘I am Becky Bloomwood.’ She is humble, sweet, optimistic and gets really excited about things.”

Confessions of a Shopaholic appears to be a breezy romp through Manhattan’s high-end store aisles as its first theatrical trailer premieres Friday, before showings of Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist.

Especially with accident-prone Becky Bloomwood, the insolvent heroine of Sophie Kinsella’s best-selling chick-lit series, leading the “charge-it!” charge.

But when the comedy opens Feb. 13, with Isla Fisher (Wedding Crashers) as the irrepressible spendthrift, it could also serve as a cautionary tale, given that the dreary economic climate isn’t about to brighten soon.

“The consumerism in the movie kind of puts it out there,” says producer Jerry Bruckheimer, who’s taking a break from such manly fare as the Pirates of the Caribbean films for more pink-hued pursuits. “Credit companies gladly will send you a number of cards, you get into debt, and then they come after you.”

Confessions of a Shopaholic Poster

The first poster has been released for Confessions of a Shopaholic, which features our adorable Isla as Rebecca. The tagline reads: “All she ever wanted was a little credit…”

You can also check out the temporary official site, currently featuring a synopsis of the film.

I hope we will get some official stills soon.
