Isla attended a couple of new events in Los Angeles a few days ago. She took her spot at the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Event alongside Jennifer Aniston, Tobey Maguire and January Jones, looking smart in a leather mini-skirt, green shirt and sweater, and shades. I believe – but may be wrong – that Isla is friends with jewellry designer Jennifer Meyer (Tobey Maguire’s wife), who was one of the 10 CFDA Vogue Fashion Fund Award finalists. Isla wore Jennifer’s jewellry at the event.
She and Sacha also popped up at the Fulfillment Fund Stars Gala, at which Isla wore a turquoise dress with a black blazer.

Jennifer Aniston Bonds With Tobey Maguire, Isla Fisher at Fashion Show
Jennifer Aniston is having the time of her life — and not just because she’s found love again with Justin Theroux, her fiance of two months.
The Bounty Hunter star attended the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund event at Chateau Marmont in L.A. Oct. 25. Aniston, 42, sat in the front row with Great Gatsby star Tobey Maguire, 37, his mother-in-law, Kelly Chapman Meyer, and Bachelorette actress Isla Fisher, 36. The trio were on hand to support Maguire’s jewelry designer wife, Jennifer Meyer, 35.
“The three women laughed and chatted, and at one point, Jen put her hand on Isla’s leg,” an onlooker tells Us Weekly of Aniston, Chapman Meyer and Fisher. “It appeared Jen was telling them a story that had Isla in stitches.”
Aniston — dressed casually in head-to-toe black — “turned to Tobey after talking to Isla and Kelly for some time and then had him laughing, too,” the onlooker adds.
When Meyer’s jewelry line was presented, Aniston and Maguire cheered loudly. “Jen looked intently at the pieces and remarked on them to Isla,” the onlooker tells Us. “Jen, Tobey and Isla applauded again when Jennifer Meyer’s final piece passed by them.”
After each designer’s collection was shown, they each returned to the runway for one final lap. “Jen, Tobey and Isla clapped loudly for Jennifer Meyer,” the onlooker says. “Tobey’s hands were high in his lap, Isla shouted ‘woo!,’ and Jen blew Jennifer Meyer a double-handed kiss.”
Post-show, Aniston mingled with actresses Milla Jovovich and January Jones. Maguire raved about his wife of five years, telling Us he was “proud” of her latest collection. “She works hard, she loves doing it, and it was a lot of fun to see.”
“I’m just excited for her. I think this is a great event — it’s a lot of fun,” the Spider-Man actor told Us. “Getting to be a part of this group and go through this honor and kind of have the exposure to the people that she admires, I think is fantastic. So it’s a great experience for her, and I’m thrilled for her, and I think her designs are beautiful. It’s a lot of fun to see it shown off in this way.”
CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund finalists strut their stuff in L.A.
Jennifer Aniston, Tobey Maguire, Victoria Beckham, Isla Fisher, January Jones, Katy Perry and other A-listers came out for a fashion show at the Chateau Marmont on Thursday afternoon, featuring creations by the designer finalists for the Council of Fashion Designers of America/Vogue Fashion Fund Award.
Hosted by Vogue editors Mark Holgate and Lisa Love, the event was held in the garden, with models winding their way around the seated guests, including Los Angeles designers Laura and Kate Mulleavy, Pamela Skaist Levy and Gela Nash Taylor, Gregory Parkinson and Juan Carlos Obando. Stylists Rachel Zoe and Arianne Phillips were there. Vogue editor in chief Anna Wintour was front and center with her daughter Bee Shaffer, who recently moved to L.A. and is working for Ryan Murphy Productions. And designers Reed Krakoff and Jenna Lyons of J. Crew were in from New York.
On the runway, models wore select pieces from the 10 finalists’ spring-summer 2013 collections, including Giulietta’s retro ladylike eyelet coats, sequined pencil skirts and embroidered bra tops, Assembly New York’s St. Tropez resort-ready porcelain blue pleated trousers and crisp shirts, Suno’s breezy, mixed florals and Wes Gordon’s take on lacy, feminine evening wear. In the accessories category, shoe designer Tabitha Simmons’ striped wedge espadrilles and cherry red strappy evening sandals with delicate rhinestone buckles were a hit. Jennifer Fisher layered chunky gold chain jewelry on models’ necks and wrists, and Illesteva offered handmade eyewear.
From L.A., the delicate pendants by finalist Jennifer Meyer (Mrs. Tobey Maguire) drew applause from her many pals in the audience, as did stylist-turned-designer Andrea Lieberman’a A.L.C. collection, including a wearable cotton utility vest and blue, printed palazzo pants. Haute hippie knitwear line Elder Statesman’s tie-dye scarves, snuggly palm tree sweater and knit rucksacks were also highlights.
The CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund was founded in 2003 to help foster a new generation of American fashion talent. Alexander Wang, Rodarte, Proenza Schouler, Scott Sternberg, George Esquivel and many more have come through the program.
Winners receive funds ($300,000 for the winner and $100,000 each for two runners-up), to develop their brands, and mentorship from industry professionals. Select pieces from the finalists will be available for sale on Yoox.com, the official online partner for the program, beginning Nov. 7. The winner will be announced Nov. 13 in New York.
CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Finalists Show in L.A.
A Hollywood campaign visit by Michelle Obama may have been causing a traffic snarl on the Sunset Strip on Thursday, but at Chateau Marmont, a slightly lower-stakes contest was happening at the annual CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Los Angeles runway show.
This year’s finalists — A.L.C., Assembly New York, Giulietta, Illesteva, Jennifer Fisher, Jennifer Meyer, Suno, Tabitha Simmons, The Elder Statesman and Wes Gordon — were all starry-eyed from the experience of being in Los Angeles and showing their clothes to a slew of stars that included January Jones, Elisabeth Moss, Marisa Tomei, Emma Roberts and Mandy Moore.
Perhaps the exception among the nominees was Meyer, who grew up in Hollywood and whose front-row cheering section included her father, NBC/Universal chief Ron Meyer, husband Tobey Maguire, Isla Fisher, Jennifer Aniston and producer Joel Silver. A few seats down, next to Anna Wintour and Victoria Beckham, was director Baz Luhrmann, whose upcoming “The Great Gatsby” stars Maguire and Fisher alongside Leonardo DiCaprio and Carey Mulligan.
“Are you going to make a movie about this?” one guest asked him. “Well, I think I already did, or at least it’s inspired many characters,” said Luhrmann of the fashion show. “Anyway, there’s nothing more pleasurable than sitting in a beautiful garden watching gorgeous clothes go by.”
Many of the guests had their own agendas as well, whether it was deal-making, industry schmoozing, or strictly clothes-related.
“I always get ideas for the red carpet here,” said veteran Emmy nominee Moss. “I actually need to meet designers who want me to wear their clothes. It’s how I started wearing Cushnie et Ochs, who showed here last year.”
For company, Moss brought along her Stella McCartney-clad mother, Linda, who helped her spot the designers in the crowd. Another actress stalking the fashion talent was Bella Heathcote, who jumped up from the miniature table where she was taking postshow tea with friends Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Amanda Crew to bound up the parlor stairs to meet Andrea Lieberman. “A.L.C. is one of my favorite lines,” she told the stylist-turned-designer.
Gwen Stefani, one of Lieberman’s former clients and a close friend, made a postshow appearance to congratulate her. Wes Gordon had a fan in Katy Perry, who had several people sweating when she missed the show but came in time for the photo op wearing one of his printed dresses.
