“Rango” wins the Oscar for Best Animated Feature Film!

It was movie’s big night last night, with the 84th Annual Academy Awards taking place in Hollywood. A very big congratulations goes to the cast and crew of Rango, which took home the Oscar for Best Animated Feature Film! This is fantastic, and I’m really happy for all those involved in the making of the movie. It was one of my favourite films of 2011, which I was not expecting, and I thought it was such an original, smart and hilarious movie, and very deserving of this award.

I was hoping Isla might appear at one of the after parties, seeing as how her husband was at the event (albeit in character), but unfortunately not!

Congrats once again to Gore Verbinski and the Rango team…

“Wedding Crashers” Unrated version HD screencaptures

Continuing our DVD screencapture update run, I am excited to tell you that today I have uploaded over 500 HD screencaptures from Wedding Crashers! We all know that Isla played the “bipolar nymphomanic” Gloria in the riotous wedding comedy, which is her most famous and popular role to date. She was just so crazy and hilarious, and I think I love her performance in the film more and more each time I watch it! These screencaps are from the extended Unrated version, that featured 7 minutes of footage that was cut from the theatrical version.

Browse through the gorgeous HD screencaptures in our Gallery – I hope you enjoy them as much as I did 🙂

“Burke & Hare” HD film screencaptures

I have a great update for you today! I’ve added gorgeous HD screencaptures from Burke & Hare, in which Isla plays the determined but clueless Ginny. These screencaps are particularly nice because they are HD and therefore very good quality! I’ve also capped the DVD menu’s, but unfortunately there were no extras on my copy.

I wasn’t expecting much from the film to be honest, but I actually really enjoyed it, and thought it was a pretty smart and funny black comedy. Isla looks ravishing in the movie, and is totally hilarious and over-the-top as the ambitious Scottish actress! She really is brilliant at physical comedy.

Enjoy the pretty HD caps – I know I did! 🙂

First artwork for “Rise Of The Guardians”

ComingSoon.net have posted a new poster for the upcoming animated movie Rise Of The Guardians, and it gives us our first look at the characters themselves! I’m guessing that’s Isla’s character, the Tooth Fairy, in the top right corner…

When an evil spirit called Pitch becomes bent upon taking over the world by inspiring fear in the hearts of kids everywhere, a group of our greatest heroes — Santa, the Easter Bunny, the Tooth Fairy, the Sandman and Jack Frost — band together for the first time, determined to stand in Pitch’s way. More than a collection of storybook subjects, The Guardians are also a band of superheroes, who possess their own special powers. Now joined in opposition of a common foe, the Guardians heed the call and combine their powers to defeat Pitch and protect the world from his campaign of fear.

Oliver Twist 1999 Mini-Series – Episode 3 & 4 screencaptures

I’ve now added screencaps from the 3rd and 4th episode of the 1999 mini-series Oliver Twist, although as you can see, Isla wasn’t in them much! In episode 3 we see her ‘working’ in a pub and then later trying to look after Nancy, and in the 4th and final episode Bet discovers Nancy’s dead body and screams ‘murder’ (in a very Australian accent!) out of the window. So check out our exclusive screencaps in the Gallery!

Stay tuned for Wedding Crashers and Burke & Hare HD screencaps in the coming week or so…

Oliver Twist 1999 Mini-Series – Episode 2 screencaptures

Continuing my mission to screencap Isla’s remaining projects that we don’t already have in our Gallery (as well as watch the ones I haven’t already seen!), I have this week managed to get hold of the Oliver Twist mini-series that was made and aired in the UK in 1999. Isla played Bet in the series, a ‘lady of the night’ and friend of Nancy. She appears briefly in Episode 2, where she meets Oliver and coos over how sweet he is calling her and Nancy ‘miss’! Exclusive screencaps from Episode 2 can now be found in our Gallery.

Isla is listed as starring in episodes 3 & 4 too, so check back for screencaps from those 2 episodes later this week, when I receive that disc.

Enjoy this rare treat!
